Geographical Location
As a municipality in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Kentzlin belongs to the Mecklenburg Lake District. The town is located approximately 16 kilometers south of Demmin, around eight kilometers north of Stavenhagen, and around eight kilometers east of Lake Kummerow. Kentzlin is also part of the Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake District travel region.
History
Kentzlin was first documented around 1300 under the name Cancelyn. Neu-Kentzlin was founded in 1764, before the municipality adopted the name Kentzlin in 2002.
