Active Days and Experiences in the Harbor

In the harbor of Mönsterås, the activity park offers opportunities for parkour, skateboarding, inline skating, and BMX. Casual sports are permitted there from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., provided that no organized club sports or school activities are taking place. Use is therefore subject to specific times and the current availability of the facility. The activity park also includes a stage area for music, dance, and other performances.

The Mönsterås Walk of Fame is also located in the harbor. It introduces local people and bands, and new stars are nominated on an ongoing basis. The site thus combines sporting activities and public culture, without requiring you to focus on just one type of visit.

Church, Merchant’s House, and Crafts

Mönsterås Church is open daily for visits and prayer. On weekdays, it is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Sundays from 8 a.m. to noon.

Modéerska huset is a culturally protected merchant’s house from the 18th century and the oldest wooden house in Mönsterås. In the building, the Månsken craft association sells unique items made by craftspeople in the municipality of Mönsterås. Månsken also organizes various exhibitions there during the summer months.

Mönsterås Hembygdsgård presents extensive collections in its various buildings. Guided tours of the Hembygdsgård and its exhibitions can be booked by phone or email; a tour takes approximately two hours. This type of visit is especially suitable if you would like to experience the buildings and collections not merely individually, but as part of a connected guided tour.

Wetland, Boat Route, and Music Event

In the surroundings of Mönsterås, the Kronobäck Wetland Trail begins at the Kronobäck monastery ruin. The trail forms an approximately 2.4-kilometer loop around the wetland. This provides a clearly defined short circular route for planning your outing, with a starting point connected to a monastery ruin.

On the boat route, the boats pass Mönsterås and then continue in the direction of Oskarshamn. During Mönsterås Blues and Roots, Storgatan serves as a stage during the day; in the evening, performances take place at Hotel Munken.
