Hultsfred – The Walk consists of around 40 information boards that form a circular route starting from the Klubben site. The “Hultsfred – The Walk” app offers music, film clips, facts and augmented reality experiences that can be enjoyed on site in Hultsfred. App details may change. The Walk therefore combines a specific circular route with additional digital content, while the two offer distinct experiences.
The Hultsfred – The Walk of Fame is a permanent monument to the music history that originated in Hultsfred. The similarly named attractions have different roles: The Walk is the route across the historic festival grounds, with information boards and app content; the Walk of Fame is the monument.
Narrow-gauge railway and activities
The narrow-gauge railway between Hultsfred and Västervik is 71 kilometres long and has a track gauge of 891 millimetres. The section between the two towns opened in 1879. The Smalspåret Hultsfred–Målilla route is listed as 13.0 kilometres long, and starts at Hultsfred station. The two distances refer to differently designated routes and provide specific guidance for each railway connection.
The dressin route from Hultsfred to Målilla has a rest stop by Lake Hesjön. If you plan to take this route, check the facilities and operating dates in advance. Hagadal Outdoor is a facility for parkour, obstacles and motor skills. The range of activities thus includes both a route with a rest stop and a facility specifically designed for physical activity.
History and culture of times past
Hultsfreds hembygdspark showcases the history and culture of times past. All the buildings in the park were moved there from elsewhere. Their furnishings largely reflect the conditions typical of the period when each was inhabited, mainly the 19th and early 20th centuries. The relocated buildings and their largely period-typical furnishings offer two tangible aspects of the park’s historical focus: where the houses came from and the living conditions reflected in their furnishings.
Water, nature and event dates
For the 2026 bathing season, the Hulingen bathing area in Hultsfred received a “excellent quality” rating based on the 2025 classification. The rating therefore applies to a specific season and classification. The municipal nature reserve Alkärret is also located in Hultsfred municipality and features a marshy forest habitat. Around 40 more or less threatened species depend on this habitat.
