Tåstrup between Dallund Sø and historic culture

At Dallund Sø, Tåstrup combines nature observation with a multifaceted history. A marked trail around the lake is approximately 5.5 km long, while the actual loop around the lake covers about 2.5 km. For a short walk by the lake, the smaller circuit is the shorter route; the marked trail adds more distance to the day’s itinerary. Dallund Sø has a birdwatching tower offering good views of the surrounding area. Birds that breed or rest here can be observed from the tower. Historic sites around TÃ¥strup

Dallund Castle has been known as a manor since as early as the 14th century. The oldest part of the present building was constructed around 1520. Its long historical context and preserved fabric make the castle an important historical reference point in the vicinity of TÃ¥strup.

The village forge from Tåstrup is also part of the area’s history. It was probably built in 1746 by Theodesius v. Finecke, the owner of Dallund Castle. The presumed construction in 1746 preceded its relocation to Gummerup in 1931. In 1931, the forge from Tåstrup was moved to Hjemstavnsgården in Gummerup. A village forge from Tåstrup was also installed on the grounds of the Hjemstavnsgården museum.

Lunde Church dates from the Romanesque period and was built around the 12th century. The year 1384 provides another historical connection: King Hans of Denmark issued a deed of gift to the parish of Lunde for a plot of land, together with an obligation to hold requiem masses. Lunde Church thus combines its Romanesque origins with the later document from 1384.

Historically, TÃ¥strup, also known as Tostrup, is associated with Dallund and the Fynske Rytterdistrikt. TÃ¥strup and Tostrup are historical names for the same place. The forge therefore carries two place names in its history: TÃ¥strup as its place of origin and Gummerup as its later location.

Those who visit Tåstrup can therefore experience their stay from various perspectives: Dallund Sø represents walking and birdwatching, the meadows along the Lunde Å represent a landscape shaped by historical change, while the castle, church and forge make different eras visible. The black Kløversti trail in Søndersø passes Dallund Castle and Dallund Sø. This makes it possible to connect nature and culture conceptually, even though the two do not have the same character.
